La Course pour les femmes, présentée dans le cadre du programme AIMEZ VOUS de Shoppers Drug Mart profitera à l’Association canadienne pour la santé mentale, Waterloo Wellington, en inspirant et en aidant les femmes à atteindre la qualité de vie qu’elles désirent. Une Canadienne sur cinq connaîtra une grave crise de santé mentale au cours de sa vie. L’ACSM WW fournit un système de soins complet aux personnes ayant des problèmes de toxicomanie, de santé mentale ou des besoins en matière de développement. Les femmes ont accès à 71 % de nos programmes pour adultes. Plus de 50 % de nos services de crise sont destinés aux femmes. Ensemble, nous pouvons donner de l’espoir aux femmes et collecter des fonds pour améliorer les soins de santé mentale.

Studies have shown that women are three times more likely than men to suffer from depression, and one in four women will experience some form of depression in their lifetime. This need is being addressed by CMHA Waterloo Wellington so that the women in our region are better supported.

The Run for Women will be benefiting the Canadian Mental Health Association Waterloo Wellington, inspiring and supporting women to achieve the quality of life they desire. 1 in 5 Canadian women will experience a serious mental health crisis in their lifetime. CMHA WW provides a full care system for those with addictions, mental health or developmental needs. Women access 71% of our adult programs. Over 50% of our crisis services are for Women. Together we can provide hope to women and raise funds for better mental health care.

Your funds will provide hope and community through a skills program for women in crisis and high-risk of suicide. We will hire mental health and trauma counsellors to provide immediate counselling to women at Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis and Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo Region at their time of crisis. Our Senior's program will be expanded to provide team-based care to high-risk women.
